Yes. The soap is designed to clean and moisturize. However, more moisturizing is needed after showering as the water tends to leave skin dry after washing. A layer of Shea Buttercream will lock in moisture and seal in nutrients. It replenishes the skin after a thorough cleaning. Applying while the skin is still moist will yield the best results.
Yes, this soap is handmade in Ghana and Nigeria. It is the result of a long process that results in a 100% natural soap. The ingredients in this soap include Palm Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Plantain Skin, Cocoa Pods, Honey and Shea Tree Bark.
This product can be easily broken up into smaller pieces and used. It is soft and pliable when wet and produces a lot of suds, so not much is needed to form an abundant lather. Because of the texture, it should not sit in water as it will soften. We find it’s best if it is kept on a dry or draining soap dish. If you prefer liquid, it can be put into a pump container with water added and it will liquefy. Used sparingly, it can last for months as a face soap.
The Shea Based Soaps are not as soft and pliable as the Raw African Soap, but should still be stored on a dry or draining soap dish and should not be left sitting in water.
As with all handmade products, the colors tend to vary. But don’t worry, the same wonderful ingredients are still in the soap. Nothing else about it has changed.
