As a child, I grew up with eczema and had a constant struggle with keeping my skin moisturized. I tried everything under the sun; from bleach baths to slathering in calamine lotion to using pure Aloe Vera. I tried removing citrus, dairy and anything I thought might trigger the breakouts from my diet. Needless to say, all of my efforts were in vain.

One day my grandmother came to visit and brought some black soap and shea butter a friend of hers had brought home from a trip to Ghana. I began using the cream and started to find relief from the notorious itchy eczema by rubbing the magical cream behind my knees and on the inside of my elbows. As anyone with eczema knows, the more you scratch, the worse it gets. My scratching decreased significantly and consequently, I found a great deal of relief from the magic cream.

My eczema is systemic, so it wasn’t cured, but my lifestyle began to change. For the first time, it was possible for me to wear shorts and play near the grass (grass was a really bad irritant for me), and I could wear clothes made from fabrics other than cotton…my mom was probably happier than I was. No one likes to see their child suffer.

When my mom reminded me of the magical cream, my grandma had long since passed. We racked our brain to try to figure out what it was and eventually realized it was shea butter. After trying out many shea butter products, I realized that they weren’t really working for me because they contained water. In case you didn’t know, water and eczema don’t really mix.

Many years later, when I started to look for a natural product for my hair, I formulated EverNatural. Using shea butter as a base, I added Mango Butter, Aloe Vera, Olive Oil and several other organic ingredients to use to seal in the moisture in my hair. After two years experimenting with shea butter and other natural and organic products and much trial and error, I developed EverNatural. It sealed in the moisture in my hair and kept it soft, which made it much easier to manage. I began to use EverNatural for my hair and my skin and have never looked back.

And the rest is history…

EverNatural is made from the richest ingredients like unprocessed shea and mango butters, pure Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Coconut oil and Olive oil.   It’s my magical cream and as I passed out samples to friends and family, I got many compliments and requests.  I had to oblige and began to manufacture this miracle cream for them.   Surprisingly, I had more many more men requesting it that I expected.   My teenage son began requesting it for his friends.  Even his barber wanted some!   I saw that it was used in many ways; as a skin emollient, hair moisturizer and pressing cream. It was used for braiding, twisting and locking hair and was also used as a stretch mark cream and a lip balm.  There were many requests for a soap to accompany the cream, so I decided to oblige and offer a shea butter based soap that makes for a fine pairing with the cream.  My oatmeal and black charcoal soap were such a hit, I made more delectable scents for the whole family.
